The iconic Melrose Arch mixed-use precinct in Johannesburg has become the new home of Sasfin Wealth.
Sasfin’s team of Johannesburg portfolio managers, wealth managers, asset managers and researchers move to roughly 1,000sqm new offices in South Africa’s most iconic new urban precinct from November 2015.
Melrose Arch precinct manager, Mike Vermaak, says: “With its rich history and strong presence in the financial arena, we are thrilled Sasfin has chosen Melrose Arch as its new home. We have no doubt the precinct will provide it with the right amenities and atmosphere to serve its staff and clients, and nurture its business.”
Listed on the JSE in 1987, Sasfin Bank Limited is a subsidiary of Sasfin Holdings Limited. It offers its customers a range of comprehensive, modular banking and financial services focused on the needs of the entrepreneur, corporate, institution and high-net-worth individual.
Sasfin Wealth has, for over 120 years, provided trusted advice and wealth management solutions to many of South Africa’s most respected families and established organisations.
Commenting on the move, Michael Sassoon, Sasfin’s head of Wealth and Capital, says: “Sasfin is a growing business and, with an increase in staff, we required additional office space. This presented a wonderful opportunity for Sasfin Wealth to move into Melrose Arch. Here we can appropriately engage with our private clients in high-end offices while remaining close to Sasfin’s Head Office.”
Sassoon reports: “Melrose Arch provides a safe and welcoming environment for our clients to visit and interact with our teams. As an advice-led asset manager with a domestic and global investment offering for both private and institutional clients, it is very important that our office space reflects not only what we do, but also provides the right functions to support how we do it.”
Sasfin Wealth’s office space features several welcoming client engagement areas as well as office space that affords its teams the ability to engage with each other in a meaningful way. “Its location, visibility and size support us in growing the business and servicing our clients more effectively,” notes Sassoon.
Taking its responsibility to reduce its carbon footprint and contribute to environmental sustainability seriously, Melrose Arch was an obvious choice as a new home for Sasfin, explains Sassoon.
Melrose Arch is designed to provide a platform for ecomobility, green building and resource-efficiency for all its businesses and residents.
Renee Feeney, Leasing Manager at Melrose Arch, explains that top national and multinational concerns and leading blue-chip companies consider Melrose Arch an ideal location because of the ease, safety and enjoyment it offers for business at the highest levels.
Melrose Arch is respected as one of the most prestigious business addresses in South Africa. Secure, pristine and pedestrian friendly, its premier offices are well positioned, surrounded by world-class hotels and luxury apartments as well as the best local and international retail offerings.
Sasfin Wealth’s new neighbours include the likes of Stanlib, Worley Parsons, Bidvest Group, Lonmin, British Airways, Royal Bafokeng Holdings and DuPont.
Feeney points out: “Its vibrant mixed-uses underpin the appeal of Melrose Arch as a modern business precinct, especially for companies who host international clients.”
Melrose Arch is acknowledged as South Africa’s original and leading new urban city – a growing vibrant quarter where people live, shop, work and play in a celebrated safe open-air environment.
It is part of the pioneering portfolio of the Amdec Group, a privately-owned property development and investment business. With 26 years of experience in the property industry, Amdec is recognised as South Africa’s leading developer of New Urban lifestyles.
Sassoon adds: “We look forward to interacting with clients in the new Melrose Arch office and we are very happy to be a part of the precinct”.
